As a triple Board Certified Physician, Dr. Cabaret understands how to help patients that are suffering. He knows how to properly diagnose, treat and support patients with chronic pain and/or addiction challenges. He knows how to help patients regain their lives.
Dr. Cabaret focuses on three primary areas of treatment:
INTERVENTIONAL PAIN MANAGEMENT
IPM is a field of medicine that addresses acute and chronic pain primarily through the use medical procedures. Procedures include office-based ultrasound-guided precision injections for peripheral musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis and tendinitis. Some procedures need to be performed in a fluoroscopy suite at a surgery center under anesthesia. Fluoroscopically-guided injections are more commonly performed for spinal conditions such as herniated disks, facet joint arthritis, failed back surgery syndrome, spinal stenosis, and CRPS. In addition to injections, there are a number of fluoroscopically-guided procedures such as radio-frequency ablation, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion stimulators, intrathecal pump, minimally-invasive surgery, and kyphoplasty.
Acute pain, especially after a personal injury, can be extremely frustrating to deal with. Knowing where to go and what to do can be very confusing. Dr Cabaret and his team at Genesis Pain Specialists are experts in helping patients navigate this difficult time in their lives. He knows what to do and how to help. His A-Team of personal injury experts will make the whole process as easy and effective as it can be.
Chronic pain management is a very complex and nuanced undertaking. Chronic pain invariably affects other domains of a person’s life such as mood, physical and social functioning, sleep, even a person’s integrity and sense of identity – and vice versa. An effective interventional pain specialist also has expertise in these other aspects of pain management. The best results are often achieved when a Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual approach is used. This holistic multimodal approach takes into consideration the whole person. Physical therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, support groups, “alternative” approaches, referrals to outside specialists and pain medication management, including DEA-scheduled narcotics where appropriate, are all within the scope of practice of a modern interventional pain specialist.
It is best to think of interventional pain specialists as pain management quarterbacks; knowledgeable and skillful team members who know how to formulate a plan and when to make hand-offs to achieve the best results in any given situation.
REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
Regenerative medicine is a revolutionary field of medicine that uses your body’s own cells to accelerate healing, relieve pain, and improve function. Platelet rich plasma, bone marrow aspirate concentrate, lipoaspirate concentrate, stromal vascular fraction, and cytokine therapy all fall under the category of regenerative medicine. When used for musculoskeletal conditions, such as arthritis, tendonitis, ligament, tendon, muscle tears, and sports injuries, these treatments are often referred to as orthobiologics. These are generally one-time procedures that can be performed in the office with minimal downtime from work or other valued activities. Results can be remarkable, often with full return to pain-free function over time, while avoiding problematic medications and surgery, including joint replacement surgery.
ADDICTION MEDICINE
In this way, Dr. Cabaret addresses and treats both the fundamental aspects of chronic pain and helps patients adopt a healing cycle.
Ultimately, no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Dr. Cabaret loves helping people find solutions that empower his patients to take charge of their chronic pain and lead the most full and rewarding lives possible.
